Champers Salons is a community that has evolved through the years. We strive to keep our 4 locations connected through a friendly, family atmosphere. Our team atmosphere creates a salon environment that is fun, upbeat and welcoming. Champers is also proud to give back to the community by sponsoring the Christian Children's Fund. 

Champers Salons are family owned and operated by Bill and Maria Hewson. After emigrating to Canada, from London, England in 1987, Bill and Maria opened their first Salon at Scott road and 92nd in 1988. Maria brings 40 years of hairdressing and customer service experience to the Champers group of salons, while Bill maintains the business. At only fifteen Maria began her career in the beauty industry as an apprentice, and after completing her diploma at London's Morris School of Hairdressing, went on to manage several salons in London. She also owned her own salon- Simmons, for five years prior to coming to Canada, where Champers Salons were created. The word Champers is slang, in the UK, for Champagne (the finest of high quality wines). We named our salons Champers as it is our goal to produce the finest quality of work in all of our locations.

With over 20 years under our belts and 3 locations, Champers now employs over 100 multi-talented hair designers and aestheticians who have all benefited from the companies high emphasis on advanced education. Maria truly believes that on-going education is key to the success of stylists, and ultimately the key to satisfying every client's needs. We strive to make sure that there is always education readily available for all of our employees. In fact it is required that our staff complete a set amount of seminars each year. These seminars cover all aspects of hair design, from coloring and foiling at advanced levels, to advanced precision cutting and styling techniques, that are presented by the top world wide designers.
